About

An Emma Hill scarf is intricately designed and sensuous to the touch; a collectible keepsake to be treasured and enjoyed. Like a piece of jewellery, an Emma Hill scarf is worn to make you feel beautiful and special. Emma, the designer of the eponymous brand, uses her own original paintings that are digitally printed on to luxurious fine silk, made in England.

Emma Hill scarf designs are spontaneous, fun and quirky; they celebrate the creative spirit in everyone embracing individuality. The original painting process uses a kaleidoscope of colour with layers of texture created by the application of hundreds of intricately applied dots producing a whimsical labyrinth of pattern and colour. Mystically alluring, the designs suggest an adventure into the imagination or a dream recalled. The images hint of a memory or a feeling of something familiar but, not everything is as meets the eye. The more you look, the more you find. Slowly, over time, delicate details are discovered, recognised and cherished and, as the scarf is unfolded, the true story is revealed.

Painting Influence:

Emma is half Norwegian, half English. The mystical  beauty of the Norwegian landscape holds childhood memories of watching the Northern Lights, campfires by fjords and searching for Trolls in the mountains under the midnight sun. Emma's imagination took flight. And so did Emma. Instead of going to Art School she embarked on years of travelling as a member of British Airways cabin crew. Whilst her colleagues took to the beach, Emma sought out art from the smallest galleries to largest museums around the world. This informed her distinctive and unique painting style: an eclectic, sophisticated mix with a hint of  every influence under the sun, from Pointillism to Aboriginal and Pop Art to Rosemaling and the Surreal. Her signature dots have linked diptychs and triptychs and have now evolved into a series of paintings that have become a storyboard.

Emma has been selling her art successfully for the past 12 years. Her paintings are the source of design used in the Emma Hill luxury scarf collections. All authentic Emma Hill scarves are distinguished by her Mimi character, jewelled spider, strawberry , signature and distinctive Daisy and Iris icons.

Emma lives and works from home in Surrey, she is married with two daughters, Daisy and Iris.
